Are You A Global Animal?
How can you tell?
Well, for starters, a Global Animal is somebody who cares passionately about all living beings. So, stepping up for animals feels only natural.
A Global Animal might call himself or herself a pet “guardian” rather than a pet “owner,” and doesn’t care if anyone snickers. That’s because they are imbued with a great attitude and a sense of humor, which is to say, they don’t waste energy whining or being self-righteous.
Global Animals act. A Global Animal respects – and is inspired by – the inherent innocence in the animal kingdom. Animals kill only when they are hungry and flee when they are afraid. And animals express joy in a myriad of ways, whether it’s a wag of a tail or a flap of a flipper.
A Global Animal recognizes that animal welfare is the great “rights” issue of our time. A hundred years from now, we will look back aghast at how we currently treat animals, much the same way we look back at slavery today.
Global Animals recognize the importance of changing the way we view animals, whether on the farm or in the jungle, not least for our own humanity.
Global Animals usually land somewhere on the vegan/vegetarian/eating-less-meat-and-fish continuum. But if they can’t do it fully, their movement is toward more awareness, such as buying from Animal Welfare Approved or Certified Humane sources to ensure more humane treatment of animals who gave their lives.
A Global Animal appreciates that the animal kingdom exists for its own reasons and isn’t simply a resource for exploitation by mankind. They recognize that humans are animal, too, and understand all creatures value their life on earth, are sensitive and have the ability to suffer – and must be treated well.
Global Animals understand that wild animals aren’t on the planet for our entertainment. Chimps in suits, baby elephants tortured to stand on their heads in circuses, or orcas confined in pools to perform for food punishes animals and degrades people.
Global Animals understand the wild kingdom, from tree frogs in rain forests (our logo) to the great mammals of the Serengeti, to the polar bears of Alaska, are the “canaries in the coal mine” of the planet’s environmental health. We must use to save them and their habitats during what’s being called the “sixth great extinction.”

[dropcap]How Global Animal Fits In[/dropcap]
The news, the stories, and the events that are important to the animal kingdom are important to Global Animals. At GlobalAnimal.org, we believe that all animals – human and otherwise – are interconnected. And so is our mutual survival. Since animals do not have citizenship or voices, only people can roar on their behalf. That’s where all Global Animals fit in.
Every 20 minutes, one animal species dies out. Gone forever. At this rate, 50% of all species will disappear by the end of this century. That is unacceptable to Global Animals. So, they take action to protect those whose survival depends on good people (which is to say, all animals).
GlobalAnimal.org is a dynamic community for animal lovers, advocates, and activists worldwide – a place for people to be informed, be moved, be heard, and get involved. Instead of feeling powerless about the news, by taking action, we can change the news we’re reading. That, too, is where we all fit in, which is pretty powerful and exciting stuff.
